Developmental Paediatrics

A developmental paediatrician is the first point of contact for children who come up with concerns about their development like delay in speech, inconsistent communication, problematic behaviours, inadequate socialisation, hearing and visual impairment ,  academic and school-related issues, inadequate physical abilities, hyperactive child and more.

A DP will have a detailed conversation with family and through developmental assessment arrives at a possible diagnosis and  factors underlying the family concerns . If required, information may be gathered from other sources of a child's life such as teachers, extended family, and friends .

This process will lead to an individual plan of action and coordination of services across various professionals .
